Graduate, REALTOR® Institute (GRI) Designation

The GRI designation is to real estate what the CPA designation is to accountants. Realtors boasting the GRI are set apart as masters of the real estate profession, possessing advanced skills and techniques. Realtors with the GRI designation have in-depth training in legal and regulatory issues, technology, and professional standards, as well as the sales process.

Why Should You Care If a Realtor® Is a GRI?

According to the National Association of REALTORS® The Graduate REALTOR® Institute or GRI Designation is "the mark of a real estate professional who has made the commitment to provide a high level of professional services by securing a strong educational foundation". Graduate REALOR® Institute (GRI) is arguably the best real estate designation that real estate agents can earn.

The real estate transaction is a complicated process. Due to the changes in laws, technology, and procedures, real estate agents must be up-to-date and knowledgable to remain successful and maintain the highest levels of professionalism in their industry.

GRI designees:

  • Have pursued a course of study that represents the minimum common body of knowledge for progressive real estate professionals.
  • Have developed a solid foundation of knowledge and skills to navigate the current real estate climate—no matter what its condition.
  • Are recognized nationally.
  • Act with professionalism and are committed to serving their clients and customers with the highest ethical standards.
